This is a question about the 88M Truck Driver Army MOS?
Yes I just answered a question about the particular MOS and have a question of my own. My boyfriend and I will be joining the Army after high school and we will have to apply for a career field. I was thinking that we could both apply for the 88M MOS because it is also open to women. Is it possible that we could get married while in the Army and apply for the same military unit as truck drivers. I'm thinking it would really be nice if they let us ride in the same truck together. I would let him do most of the driving and just sit really close to him to make sure he's going the right way. I can't ask my dad about this because my dad was in the Marine Corp infantry about 10 years ago and probably doesn't know about Army procedures. My grandpa was in the Army Infantry and fought in Vietnam and I don't think he would know the answer. Anyway what do you think? Can we be truck drivers together?

You can both be truck drivers, yes — but you should get the image of you both riding in the same truck out of your head — it’s not going to happen.
Tons of jobs other than 88M are open to women — most of them require a higher skillset/GT score than 88M, though.
The smart choice would be for each of you to sign up for a job you actually WANT, and then see where it goes from there. Once you are in AIT you can ask about the married army couple’s program — which still does NOT guarantee you will ever be assigned together.
Trust me when I tell you the Army is not going to let you just sit really close to your boyfriend and make sure he doesn’t get lost… it’s just not going to happen.
Hi there is plenty of MOS’s that are open to women and men both including medic etc. Are you sure you want to be a 88M. They do not really have a lot of civilian job opportunities once you leave the army. As for you and your husband being assigned to the same unit that is not hard and they will do that. However they will not put you in the same truck because you are both privates and every truck has a private driver and a spc or above TC (truck commander) So that’s a no-go. Other than that they will put you in the same unit station you together etc. Have any other questions shoot me an email. ….. Shadow Stalker
holy crap! don’t be a truck driver! find another job, medic, something. get married before you join, and be sure you both get a contract for same duty station.
you can both be truck drivers and assigned to the same unit, but they will not put you both in the same truck. while on convoy if something happens the army does not want family members in the same truck in case something happens. the TC also has to be E5 or above.
