[Eng] Ahmadinejad Iranian UAV Karrar Inauguration Speech

Iran unveils its first domestically-manufactured long-range Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in a ceremony marking Defense Industry Day in the country. The unveiling of the home-made drone, named Karrar took place in the presence of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and a number of defense officials. The Karrar UAV is capable of carrying a military payload of rockets to carry out bombing missions against ground targets. It is also capable of flying long distances at a very high speed. Iran's defense industries have demonstrated spectacular progress in the recent year, launching numerous domestically-built armaments, including aerial and sea-borne military vehicles such as submarines, combat frigates, and various types of missiles. Iran inaugurated the production line of two domistically-built UAVs with bombing and reconnaissance capabilities. The two hi-tech drones named 'Ra'd' (Thunder) and 'Nazir' (Harbinger) are capable of performing long-range reconnaissance, patrolling, assault and bombing missions with high precision. Ra'd, a UAV especially designed for assault and bombing missions, has the capability to destroy specific targets with high precision. Tehran established an arms development program during the 1980-88 war that Iraq waged against Iran to counter the weapons embargo imposed on it by the US and its Western allies. Zetros 6 x 6 is a mega-truck: 360 horsepower, 16 tons load capacity and hip-high tires. It comes from Daimler and promises to be a very profitable niche product. It can be used in extremely difficult terrain. For example, in northern Lapland, its being used for the construction of power lines.A Zetros costs at least 110 thousand euros, but thats cheaper than transporting raw materials and equipment by helicopter, which is the only other realistic alternative. The Zetros 6x6 was designed in Daimlers development center and assembled in the worlds largest truck factory in Wörth. Its built as a basic platform, then adapted to fit the customers needs. Its also being sold as a military vehicle, for example. MADE IN GERMANY reporter Karl Harenbrock saw the Zetros in action in Finland and also visited the Daimler plant in Wörth. His visit included the R & D department, normally off limits to reporters, where he spoke with the engineers who work on the special vehicles. At the testing grounds, the monster trucks have to tackle inclines of up to 80 percent. Are such vehicles profitable for the manufacturer, or are they expensive prestige projects? MADE IN GERMANY went to find out.

My husband collects military vehicles so I often find myself at military reenactments or at museums like this one, The Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles in Lexington, Nebraska.

@LegionAreWe so it is ok for other nations to threaten Iran, to attack it by proxy via media, economics, and scientifically, and in return you expect Iranians to say nod in agreement? Nope, those times are over, the days of the Shah are buried in history. Foriegn armies are the real entities which have no more remaining future in the region.
You sound so gun-ho for future wars to happen, so are you going to be at the front lines or will you be sitting at home typing away on youtube?
Any country that has an entire population that chants “Death to America , Death to Israel” every Friday after prayer(fact); has no future upon this planet. Your government will either submit to the United Nations , or will become the target of a vast alliance in a major war campaign that will be known in the future as “WW3″. Now , how’s that for “inspiration”?
