Question by Al: Do new and modern military aircraft and armoured vehicles take longer to repair?
if so why can't the manufactures make military vehicles easier for mechanics to fix and to get ( for example a tank) up and running. I can understand a vehicle can be out of action by enemy fire and time for repair will take longer. Its mechanical and even computer failure that can put an aircraft out of action for up to five hours!

What do you think....are vehicles getting to hi-tec, or can manufactures do more to minimize the time of repair.

well the main reason why they are more hi-tec is for efficiency. so they are supposed to last longer

this is just a shot in the dark, but there is an Air National Guard Base close to Mt. Clements (Selfrigde). Approx 40 miles NE of Detriot....you may want to start there, maybe someone can point you in the right direction.

Question by Nick B: is it illegal to sell military surplus....??
i match sellers (in the UK, Ukraine, Russia, etc. and governments, companies, collectors, etc.) with buyers in other nations of [mostly] Russian military surplus armed and armored vehicles (tanks, APCs, trucks, jets, helicopters, humvees, munitions). i never actually take ownership or import/export the vehicles. is this illegal if i do this from an office in the United States?

No. The US military does it all the time. I even got me a nice Bavarian SKS. Don't know about vehicles, you probably can buy one but the DMV is a screwey institution, they hate everyone.

Question by boholmission: Is Cagayan De Oro a good place to buy surplus vehicles? Where do I look?
I heard that the prices there are cheap and it is much closer for me to go there than to Subic Bay. I cannot seem to find any businesses there online that will give me a price that is cheaper than what I can get here in Bohol. Is it worth me making a trip there based on wishful thinking or can someone give me some contact details of surplus dealers there that will give a factory price?

Question by radicalrach424: What kind of trucks did the German military use in World War II?
We're doing a project in History on World War II and we each had to choose a sub topic (like transportation, strategy, that sort of thing) and I got transportation. So, I want to know like the kind of trucks they used to transport everything from food to soldiers but also the trucks they used to fight with (you know the ones with the big guns on the back). Thanks ahead of time for anyone who knows!

VZ 58 Rifle

Development of the weapon began in 1956; leading the development was boss engineer give to the Construct Brno facility in the city of Brno. The prototype, identified as the (broom), was considered to hall the transitional Soviet 7.62x39mm M43 cartridge, rather than the Czech 7.62x45mm vz. 52 round, used in both the earlier vz. 52 rifle and the vz. 52 light machine gun. The stabbing rifle come into repair in 1958 and over a age of 25 being (until 1984), over 920,000 weapons had been produced, fielded by the carrying weapons forces of the Czechoslovakia, Cuba and several other Asian and African nations.
The vz58 accessories were produced in three main alternate: the standard vz. 58 P (infantry) model with a certain buttstock made of a synthetic stuff (wood impregnated artificial, grown-up story used a wooden stock), the vz. 58 V (airborne), mark a side-folding metal carry stock, fold up to the true side, and the vz. 58 Pi (infantry with infrared picture), which is similar to the vz. 58 P but includes a receiver-mounted join together set (fixed on the left side of the beneficiary) used to connect an NSP2 nighttime sight; it also has a move on folding bipod and an enlarged narrow flare suppressor.

A successor to the vz. 58 was proposed in the 1990s; the 5.56x45mm NATO ?Z 2000 beating rifle has been suggested as a feasible surrogate but due to a general lack of security finances within the Czech Republic, the plan was postponed.

The vz. 58 pasture exposed

The vz. 58 is a discriminating fire gas-operated weapon that blood loss going up combustion gases make in the container from the catch light cartridge through a port pierce in the tub, 215 mm (8.5 in) from the chamber, gap into a hollow cylinder located above the barrel that hold a short-stroke piston. The vz. 58 does not have a gas control device and the full force of the gas demands is apply on the piston head, drive it toward the back in a on its own impulsive blow. The piston is ambitious back only 19 mm (0.7 in) when a accept on the piston rod butts against the seating and no additional faction is achievable. There is a light go back bounce held between the piston bear and the seating which returns the piston to its frontward spot. The gas tube is expel after the piston has traveled back 16 mm (0.6 in) and the outstanding gases are exhausted into the feeling on the underside of the canister via two ports. The total piston rod is chromium-covered to prevent fouling.
